In black those three lines read like a drawing against a white or stone worktop. This black kitchen mixer tap looks at home with a black sink, black cabinet handles or a dark quartz top, and it gives a shaker kitchen a modern edge without looking out of place. It is a designer kitchen tap in the plain sense: the shape is the whole point, and nothing on it is there for decoration.

Do not let the slim column fool you — the Luxus is a low tap. It stands 253 mm to the top of the lever, against 371 mm for the Tivoli in matt black, so it clears inward-opening windows, low shelves and wall units. The outlet still sits 195 mm above the worktop, and the spout swivels 360° with a 175 mm reach over a single or 1.5 bowl sink.

Inside the brass body is a 35 mm ceramic cartridge on a quarter turn, worked by one lever mounted on top of the column for both flow and temperature. A flow straightener at the outlet gives a clear stream that stays in the bowl. The matt finish hides the water spots and fingerprints that show straight away on polished metal.

One check before you order: the Luxus is rated from 1 bar to 3 bar and is not suitable for gravity-fed systems, so it needs a combi boiler or pressurised mains. effort. A black tap ties together a black sink, black handles and black light fittings, and against white quartz or pale timber it becomes the deliberate detail. The coating asks for gentle care: a soft damp cloth and a dry-off, mild washing-up liquid if needed, and never bleach, limescale remover or an abrasive pad — they dull a matt finish for good.

Prefer a curve?
