Chrome Victorian Tudor Bath Shower Mixer Tap – Period Styling, Low-Pressure Reliability

The Victorian Tudor bath shower mixer tap brings genuine period character to a bathroom without the fragility that often comes with reproduction ironmongery. A round polished chrome body, authentic crosshead handles and a slim traditional bath spout give it the look of a classic pillar arrangement, but with the convenience of a single deck-mounted mixer and an integrated shower diverter.

In use it behaves the way a traditional tap should. The non-rising spindle headworks turn smoothly and stop cleanly, the crossheads give plenty of grip with wet hands, and the diverter lifts to send water to the handset without needing a separate shower valve. The 1.5 m interlocked metal hose reaches the far end of a standard bath, and the wall cradle keeps the handset off the bath rim.

Build quality is where this chrome bath shower mixer tap earns its keep. The body is solid brass rather than plated zinc, which is what allows Deva to put a 12-year guarantee behind it — the longest term on any tap we sell. That matters on Irish supplies, where hard water across much of the midlands and east is unforgiving on thin plating and budget headworks. Chrome over brass cleans up with a damp cloth and stays bright for years.

Fit is straightforward on most Irish baths. 180 mm pipe centres and ¾″ BSP inlets are the standard two-hole bath spacing, and the tap is rated from 0.3 bar, so it suits gravity-fed cylinder systems as well as combi and pumped supplies. It is WRAS approved. A bath waste is not supplied — see What's Included below — and we do not stock traps; a sound existing trap can usually be reused.

Features & Benefits

  • Victorian bath shower mixer tap styling – round body and authentic crosshead handles for period and cottage bathrooms.
  • Polished chrome finish – bright, neutral and easy to keep clean; matches existing chrome fittings without fuss.
  • Solid brass body – not plated zinc, so it resists corrosion and stands up to hard water.
  • Non-rising spindle headworks – smooth quarter-to-half turn action with a clean shut-off.
  • Built-in shower diverter – sends water to the handset with no separate shower valve required.
  • Handset and hose supplied – single-mode ABS handset, wall cradle and 1.5 m interlocked metal hose in the box.
  • Low-pressure compatible from 0.3 bar – works on gravity-fed hot water cylinders, not only combi systems.
  • 180 mm pipe centres – the standard spacing on the majority of Irish two-hole baths.
  • WRAS approved – tested against the water regulations that apply to Irish mains supplies.
  • 12-year Deva guarantee – the longest term in our tap range. Terms vary by manufacturer rather than by quality tier, so a shorter guarantee elsewhere is not a mark against the product.

Why Choose the Chrome Victorian Tudor Bath Shower Mixer Tap?

Chrome is the safe choice in a period bathroom because it is the finish most existing fittings already are. Set against a white suite, chrome crossheads read as traditional without looking like a costume; brushed brass reads warmer but commits the whole room to a scheme. We stock this Tudor in chrome only — there is no black or brass version of it — so if a darker finish is the goal, look at the waterfall range instead.

If the price is more than you want to spend on a bath tap, the Vitality chrome bath filler and the Innsbruck dual lever bath filler both fill a bath for less, though neither takes a shower handset. Going the other way, the Kinlin brushed brass waterfall bath mixer is the step up. The genuine alternative to this tap is the Kinlin chrome waterfall bath shower mixer — choose the Kinlin if your bathroom is modern and you have around 1 bar of pressure, and the Tudor if it is a period room or your hot water is gravity-fed. Whichever you pick, add a matching chrome bath waste, as no waste is supplied with the tap.

FAQ
Will it work on Irish low-pressure gravity systems?
Yes - rated from 0.3 bar, which makes it one of the better choices for older Irish homes with a hot water cylinder in the hot press. Waterfall bath mixers like the Kinlin need around 1 bar and will underperform on the same system. If you are on gravity-fed hot water, this is the safer bet.
What does 180mm centres mean and will it fit my bath?
It is the distance between the two tap holes on the bath rim. 180mm is the standard spacing on the vast majority of Irish baths, so it is normally a direct swap. Measure between the centres of your existing tap holes before ordering - if yours are a different spacing, this will not fit.
Is the shower handset included?
Yes - the tap body, flexible shower hose, handheld shower head and wall bracket are all supplied. You do not need a separate shower valve because the diverter is built into the tap. A bath waste is not included; add one in chrome to match. We do not stock traps - a sound existing trap can usually be reused.
Does a Victorian style suit a modern bathroom?
It can work as a deliberate contrast, but it belongs most naturally in period properties, cottages and bathrooms with traditional suites, cross-head detailing or panelled bath surrounds. If your bathroom is modern, the Kinlin waterfall is the better visual match.
What guarantee does it carry?
12 years from Deva - the longest on any bath tap we stock. Solid brass body, WRAS approved, non-rising spindle headworks. See all bath shower mixer taps to compare.
