Chrome Vitality Bath Filler – Two-Tap Simplicity, Strong Flow at Low Pressure

The Deva Vitality is a plain, well-made chrome bath filler: a low round body, two easy-grip handles and a short forward spout. It is the least fussy bath tap we stock, which is exactly the point — it sits below the rim line, does not dominate the bath, and matches almost any chrome fittings already in the room.

Operation is traditional full-turn rather than lever. The non-rising spindle headworks stay level as they turn, so nothing rises out of the body to collect limescale, and the hot and cold indicators make it obvious which is which. Full-turn handles need a firmer grip than levers; if wet or arthritic hands are a consideration, the lever alternative is linked below.

Flow is where this bath filler is genuinely strong. It moves 11.8 L/min at just 0.1 bar and 37.6 L/min at 1 bar, which is why it fills acceptably on a gravity-fed cylinder — still the commonest hot water setup in older Irish housing stock. The body is solid brass throughout and carries Deva's 12-year guarantee.

Fit is the standard two-hole bath arrangement with ¾″ BSP inlets, deck-mounted on the bath rim. Two things it is not: there is no shower diverter or handset, so it fills the bath and nothing else, and no waste is supplied. We stock bath wastes separately but do not stock traps, floor-standing or wall-mounted bath fillers, or bath panels.

Features & Benefits

  • Chrome bath filler in a low round profile – sits below the rim line and stays visually out of the way.
  • Strong flow at low pressure – 11.8 L/min at 0.1 bar, so it still fills a bath on a gravity-fed cylinder.
  • Works from 0.1 bar – the widest pressure tolerance of any bath tap we sell.
  • Solid brass body – corrosion-resistant and heavy in the hand, not plated zinc.
  • Non-rising spindle headworks – nothing lifts out of the body as you turn, so less to scale up.
  • Hot and cold indicators – obvious at a glance, which matters on a two-handle tap.
  • Polished chrome finish – neutral, wipes clean and matches existing chrome without a scheme decision.
  • Brass backnuts supplied – the fixings in the box are metal rather than plastic.
  • WRAS approved – meets the water regulations that apply to Irish mains supplies.
  • 12-year Deva guarantee – guarantee terms differ by manufacturer across our catalogue rather than by quality tier; Deva backs its mechanical taps for 12 years.

Why Choose the Chrome Vitality Bath Filler?

Chrome is the only finish the Vitality comes in, and on a bath tap that is rarely a limitation — the bath itself is usually white, the existing waste and overflow plate are usually chrome, and matching them is the shortest route to a room that looks deliberate. There is no matt black or brushed brass Vitality. If a darker or warmer finish is what you are after, it will have to come from the waterfall range instead.

At €55 this is the cheapest bath tap we stock. The step up is the Innsbruck chrome bath filler — same brand, same finish, same 12-year guarantee, but quarter-turn levers and ceramic discs instead of full-turn spindles. That is the genuine alternative, and levers are the better answer if grip is a concern. The other decision worth making now rather than later is whether you shower over the bath: if you do, a filler is the wrong tap. The Victorian Tudor bath shower mixer and the Kinlin chrome waterfall bath shower mixer both add a diverter, handset and hose.

No waste comes with the tap, so add the matching chrome bath waste — a bath needs a G1½ waste with linked overflow, which is a different fitting from a basin waste. We deliver across the Republic of Ireland — Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford and every county between — free on orders over €100 and usually within 2–3 working days, with same-day Dublin collection by arrangement on stocked items. FAQ
What is a 2-tap bath filler?
Two separate handles, one hot one cold, feeding a single spout - the traditional arrangement. It fits a bath already drilled for two taps, which covers most older Irish baths. There is no shower attachment: this fills the bath and nothing else. If you shower over the bath, you need a bath shower mixer such as the Victorian Tudor instead.
Should I choose this or the Innsbruck?
The Vitality is the cheaper of the two and uses traditional full-turn handles with non-rising spindle headworks. The Innsbruck uses quarter-turn levers on ceramic discs, which are easier to operate with wet or arthritic hands and look more contemporary. Both are chrome, solid brass and carry the same 12-year guarantee.
Will it fill a bath quickly?
Yes - it moves 11.8 litres a minute at only 0.1 bar and 37.6 at 1 bar, which is strong for a bath filler. Flow ultimately depends on your system: a combi boiler or pressurised mains fills fastest, a gravity-fed cylinder more slowly, but this tap copes with gravity better than most.
Is a waste included?
No. Baths need a G1 1/2 waste with a linked overflow, which is a different fitting from a basin waste. Add the chrome easy-clean bath waste to match. We do not stock traps or bath panels.
What guarantee comes with it?
12 years from Deva. Solid brass body with non-rising spindle headworks rather than rubber washers. See all bath taps.
