Is this the right waste for my basin?
Only if your basin has an overflow hole near the rim - slotted wastes have an opening in the side to let overflow water drain. No overflow hole means you need the unslotted matt black push button instead. Check the bowl before ordering.
Which taps does it match?
Any of our matt black basin taps - the Lanza square, the Spear waterfall or the Kinlin waterfall. Note the Ethos in matt black already includes a waste, so you would not need this one with it.
How do I clean it without wrecking the finish?
Soft damp cloth and dry it. Mild soapy water at most. Never bleach, limescale remover, abrasive cream or a scouring pad - these dull the matt coating permanently, and a waste gets more cleaning product on it than almost anything else in a bathroom. Drying it after use is what actually keeps it looking new.
What size is it?
60 mm top with a G1 1/4 threaded tail - the standard on most modern Irish basins. Thicker ceramic basins may need a 70 mm. Measure the visible hole before ordering.
Do I need a trap too?
Usually not - a sound existing trap can be reused, and we do not stock traps. The waste is the visible fitting the plug sits in; the trap is the U-bend below it holding water to block drain smells.
