Is a valve included?
No. The kit is the riser rail, adjustable bracket, 3-function handheld head and hose - it connects to your existing shower outlet. If you also need a valve, the Deva Newton thermostatic valve is chrome and concealed, though for an all-black scheme you may prefer to keep the valve hidden in the wall anyway.
Will the black finish survive a shower enclosure?
It handles daily use well, but treat it the way you would a black tap: rinse and wipe dry, avoid bleach, limescale removers and abrasive pads. Shower cleaners are often the harshest products in the house and will dull a matt coating over time. In hard water areas, wiping the rail dry after use prevents the white spotting that would otherwise tempt you to use descaler.
If I buy one now and need another next year, will it still match?
It should, and quoting the part number is how you make sure. This kit is PDT-000071, and it is the same kit whether it reaches you badged ELLSI or ETAL - ETAL being ELLSI's own registered trademark rather than another manufacturer. What can drift is the coating: matt black is applied finish, and batches can vary very slightly regardless of the name on the box. In one room, where a rail sits beside a tap, that is worth knowing. If you are doing two bathrooms, buy both kits together rather than a year apart.
Will it work on Irish low water pressure?
Yes - a handheld on a rail is one of the more forgiving setups for gravity-fed systems, because the flow is concentrated through a small head rather than spread across a wide rainfall plate. Large overhead rain heads are the ones that underwhelm on a hot press cylinder.
What else can I match in matt black?
We stock matt black bathroom taps, bath wastes, towel rings and roll holders. Matching the rail to at least the taps is what stops it looking like an isolated choice.
Is there a chrome version?
Yes - the chrome slide rail kit, slightly cheaper. Chrome is the safer pick if your bath screen, waste and existing shower fittings are already chrome.
