Matt Black Bathroom Taps

Matt Black Bathroom Taps for Modern Bath & Basin

Matt black bathroom taps are a simple way to give a basin, ensuite or family bathroom a sharper modern look. The finish works especially well with white sanitaryware, grey tiles, stone-effect walls and matching black fittings, making it a strong choice for both new bathrooms and smaller upgrades.

IrishBath stocks matt black taps across basin and bath formats, including the Lanza Matt Black Square, Ethos Matt Black, Spear Matt Black, Kinlin Matt Black and the Kinlin matt black bath shower mixer. Choose a square mono basin mixer for a clean everyday setup, a waterfall basin mixer when the tap is part of the design feature, or a bath shower mixer when you need a handheld shower over the bath.

Black only works when it repeats

A single black tap above a chrome waste is the mismatch people notice first, because the two sit a hand's width apart in the same white bowl. Pair the tap with a matt black waste, and carry the finish into matt black accessories — roll holder, towel ring, hooks — so the room reads as designed rather than assembled.

Looking after the finish

Soft damp cloth and dry afterwards, mild pH-neutral cleaner at most. Never bleach, limescale remover, abrasive cream or a scouring pad, all of which permanently dull a matt coating. Matt black hides fingerprints well but shows dried water spots in hard-water areas, so drying after use does more than any cleaner.

The Lanza and Kinlin shapes are also made in a warm gold finish — see brushed brass bathroom taps if black feels too stark for the room.
