Product description

Brushed Brass Unslotted Basin Waste – Click Clack Push Button, 60mm G1 1/4

A warm gold finish for a basin with no overflow. This brushed brass unslotted basin waste works on a simple push button: press once to close, press again to drain — no pull rod, no linkage behind the tap.

Unslotted means solid-sided, with no opening in the body. That suits counter-top and vessel basins, which usually have no overflow. It is the wrong choice for a basin with an overflow slot near the rim, because the overflow water would have nowhere to go — for those, take the slotted brushed brass waste instead. Look inside the bowl before ordering; it is the check that prevents most waste returns.

It is built from brass, steel, plastic and rubber for a watertight seal, and the brushed brass finish is lacquered, so it reads as soft satin gold rather than mirror-bright and shows water spots far less than polished metal.

Supplied with its fittings, it uses the standard G1 ¼″ thread for a 45 mm basin hole and a 32 mm waste pipe, the common sizes in Irish bathrooms, and the threaded body clamps basins from 25 to 60 mm thick.

Why Choose This Brushed Brass Unslotted Basin Waste?

Because the waste sits a hand's width from the tap in the same white bowl, and a chrome plug under a brass tap is the mismatch people notice first. In brushed brass it finishes the basin rather than interrupting it.

It matches our brushed brass basin taps — the Lanza square and the Kinlin waterfall, neither of which includes a waste — and you can see every gold basin and bath tap together in brushed brass bathroom taps. The same unslotted waste comes in chrome and matt black. Browse all basin wastes.

FAQ
Is this the right waste for my basin?
Only if your basin has no overflow hole. This waste is solid-sided, so a basin with an overflow slot near the rim needs the slotted brushed brass waste instead. Counter-top and vessel basins commonly have no overflow; pedestal and wall-hung basins usually do.
How do I tell slotted from unslotted on an ETAL box?
By the code, not the photo - the two look almost identical in a pack shot. ETAL is ELLSI's own registered trademark and both badges use the same PBW numbering: PBW001 is slotted, PBW002 is unslotted, and the letters after it are the finish, BB for brushed brass. So this one is PBW002BB. If you are matching a waste you already have, or comparing against an ETAL listing elsewhere, read the digits after PBW before anything else.
Which taps does it match?
Our brushed brass basin taps - the Lanza square and the Kinlin waterfall. Neither includes a waste, so order this at the same time and the basin is finished in one finish.
Will the brass match a tap from another brand?
Closely, but brushed brass varies a little in warmth between manufacturers, so a waste and tap from different ranges can sit a shade apart. It is the same brushed brass used across our ELLSI range, so it matches the Lanza and Kinlin exactly.
How do I clean it?
The finish is lacquered. Soft damp cloth, dry afterwards, mild soap at most. Bleach, limescale remover and abrasive pads strip lacquer, and a basin waste collects more cleaning product than any other fitting in the bathroom, so keep sprays away from it.
What size is it, and do I need a trap?
60 mm cap on a G1 1/4 tail, suiting a 45 mm basin hole and a 32 mm waste pipe - the standard for most modern Irish basins. The trap is the separate U-bend below the basin and is not included; a sound existing one can normally be reused.
