Chrome Square Basin Tap – Lanza Angular Design, Ceramic Disc Control
The ELLSI Lanza is a square basin tap drawn entirely in straight lines. A square column rises from a rectangular base plate, a squared spout projects flat from the front, and a slim rectangular lever sits along the top rather than out to one side. Nothing on it curves, which is what makes it read as deliberate on a modern basin instead of generic.
The lever is top-mounted and moves in the usual way — lift for volume, swing for temperature — but the flat blade shape gives you more to push against than a round knob does, so it works with a knuckle or the back of a wet hand. Underneath it a ceramic disc cartridge keeps the action light and the shut-off clean, rather than stiffening and weeping the way washer taps do after a few years.
The body is solid brass under the chrome, not plated zinc, which is the distinction that decides how a tap ages. In Irish bathrooms, where hard water runs through much of the midlands and east, thin plating over a soft substrate blisters at the base within a few years; brass under proper chrome does not. ELLSI back it for 2 years.
It stands 155 mm to the top of the lever and fits a single tap hole, deck-mounted, arriving with flexible braided connectors so it drops into existing pipework without hard-plumbing the tails. It is rated from 0.5 bar to 3 bar and moves 20.8 L/min, so a gravity-fed hot press cylinder will run it, though flow is better above 1 bar. Two things to be plain about: no waste is supplied — we stock chrome basin wastes separately — and we do not stock traps or rod-operated pop-up wastes at all, so a sound existing trap should be reused.
Features & Benefits
- Chrome square basin tap in solid brass – a brass body under the plating, not plated zinc, so it does not blister at the base.
- Square column and flat lever – straight lines throughout, matching rectangular basins and square-edged tiling.
- Top-mounted blade lever – more surface to push against than a round knob, so it works with a knuckle or a wet hand.
- Ceramic disc cartridge – light action and a clean shut-off that resists the slow drip washer taps develop.
- Quarter-turn action – off to full in a quarter turn, so it is quick to work one-handed.
- 20.8 L/min flow rate – strong for a basin tap, though best above 1 bar.
- Works from 0.5 bar – runs on a gravity-fed hot press cylinder as well as combi and mains-pressure supplies.
- Flexible braided connectors supplied – a straightforward swap for most existing mono mixers.
- Polished chrome finish – matches the shower hose, bath screen and waste plate most bathrooms already have.
- 2-year ELLSI guarantee – guarantee terms differ by manufacturer across our catalogue rather than by quality tier; 2 years is ELLSI's standard on taps.

Why Choose the Chrome Lanza Basin Tap?
Chrome is the finish that asks least of everything around it. A basin tap sits within a foot of a mirror, a light, a waste plate and often a radiator valve, and in most Irish bathrooms those are chrome already — so a chrome tap joins the room rather than starting a scheme. It also hides limescale better than matt black, which shows every dried droplet. The same square Lanza body is made in matt black and brushed brass if the room calls for one of those instead.
At €59 the Lanza sits mid-range among our basin taps, and it is the cheapest of the three finishes — the matt black is €64 and the brushed brass €69, for the same tap. Below it, the Spear chrome waterfall is €47 and the Adore Mini is €45 with a waste in the box. Above it, the Kinlin chrome waterfall and, at the top, the chrome infrared sensor tap. The genuine alternative is a waterfall: an open spout is the more dramatic object, but it needs around 1 bar to look right and it suits a rounded basin. Choose the Lanza when the basin and the room are square-edged, or when you want a closed spout that does not show the water. If the tap needs to include its own waste, the Ethos chrome basin mixer is the one that does.
No waste comes with the tap, so add a chrome slotted basin waste if your basin has an overflow, or the unslotted version if it does not.
