Product description

Antique Brass Radiator Pipe Covers and Collars 15mm – For Period Homes and Column Radiators

Bright copper pipes are the giveaway in a restored period room. You can fit cast-iron or column radiators, period valves and sash windows, and two shiny tails running into the floorboards still look like this decade. These antique brass radiator pipe covers are made to sit in that setting.

Antique brass is darker and deeper than brushed brass — an aged gold with brown in it, the colour brass fittings settle into after decades in an old house. Where brushed brass reads as fresh and modern, antique brass reads as though it has always been there, which is why it suits Victorian, Edwardian and Georgian rooms, cottages, and traditional radiators in painted colours.

The covers are aluminium, not plastic, so the finish has the depth and feel of metal. Each pack does one radiator — two 200 mm sleeves for standard 15 mm pipe and two collars to close the gap at the floorboards — and they clip around the existing pipework without draining the system.

In older houses pipes often rise at slightly different heights on each side of the radiator, so measure each one separately before you trim. Cut aluminium with a fine-tooth hacksaw and smooth the edge with fine sandpaper.

Antique Brass or Brushed Brass?

Choose antique brass for a traditional room, older-style radiators, or anywhere bright gold would look too new. Choose brushed brass when the valves and taps around it are modern brushed brass and you want the covers to match them. Antique and brushed brass do not sit well side by side, so pick one for each room.

Clean with a soft cloth, dry or barely damp. Avoid metal polish, abrasive pads and strong cleaners — the aged tone is part of the finish, and polishing it will not brighten it, only mark it.

Fitting new valves at the same time? Browse our radiator valves and heating fittings. The Enzo set also comes in polished chrome, matt black, white and anthracite grey.

We ship radiator pipe covers Ireland wide — Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford — with free delivery on orders over €100 and same-day Dublin collection on stocked items.

FAQ
What does antique brass look like compared with brushed brass?
Darker and warmer, with a brown, aged quality - the colour old brass fittings turn after many years. Brushed brass is a brighter, fresher gold. Antique brass suits traditional rooms; brushed brass suits modern brassware.
Will they suit a cast-iron or column radiator?
That is where they look best. Traditional radiators are often fitted with period-style valves, and bright copper tails beneath them look out of place. Antique brass covers carry the older tone down to the floor.
Are they plastic?
No - these are aluminium with an antique brass finish, so they look and feel like metal. The white, black and anthracite Enzo covers are uPVC.
My pipes rise at different heights - will one size fit both?
Each sleeve is 200 mm and can be trimmed, so measure each pipe separately from the floor to the underside of its valve and cut each sleeve to suit. Use a fine-tooth hacksaw and smooth the cut edge before fitting.
Should I polish them?
No. The aged tone is part of the finish. Metal polish and abrasive pads will not brighten it - they will only mark it. A soft cloth, dry or barely damp, is all they need.
