Tivoli Gunmetal Kitchen Tap – Dark Metallic Grey, Single Lever Swan Neck

Gunmetal is the finish for a kitchen that wants something darker than steel but softer than black. This gunmetal kitchen tap is the ELLSI Tivoli — the same slim swan neck and rounded single lever as the rest of the range — in a deep metallic grey that still catches a little light, where matt black absorbs it.

It earns its place in grey and charcoal schemes: anthracite cabinets, concrete-effect or dark quartz worktops, a grey composite sink. Against those, a chrome tap looks bright and slightly out of step, and a black one can disappear into the surface. Gunmetal reads as part of the same family without vanishing into it.

Underneath it is the Tivoli you may already know: a 304 stainless steel body, a 35mm ceramic disc cartridge, and a swan neck spout that swivels across a double bowl. It is rated for 1 to 3 bar — a combi boiler or pressurised mains rather than a gravity-fed cylinder in the hot press — and carries WRAS approval (No. 2009039).

One practical point for hard-water areas: a mid-tone metallic shows the pale ring that dried limescale leaves far less than matt black does, and it does not show fingerprints the way polished chrome does.

  • Rated 1–3 bar for combi boilers and pressurised mains — not suitable for gravity-fed systems.
  • WRAS approved for use on UK and Irish water supplies.
  • Deck mounted in a single 35mm hole, usually a straight swap for an existing mono mixer.
  • Flexible tap tails and fixing kit included.

Why Choose a Gunmetal Kitchen Tap?

Because it solves the problem of a dark kitchen where black is too heavy and chrome too bright. Gunmetal has depth — you can see the metal in it — so it holds its own against charcoal units and dark stone without turning into a silhouette. It also sits comfortably beside stainless appliances, which a matt black tap rarely does.

Care is the same as any coated finish: warm soapy water, a soft cloth, and dry it off. Keep limescale remover, bleach sprays and scouring pads away from it.

The same Tivoli shape is also stocked in matt black, brushed steel, polished chrome, brushed brass, brushed gold and brushed copper. If you are leaning towards black after all, compare them in black kitchen taps.

We ship kitchen taps Ireland wide — Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford and everywhere between — with free delivery on orders over €100 and same-day Dublin pickup on stocked items. Browse all kitchen taps to compare.

FAQ
Is gunmetal the same as matt black or anthracite?
No. Matt black is flat and absorbs light; gunmetal is a dark grey with a visible metallic quality, so it reflects a little and looks like metal rather than a coating. Anthracite usually describes a flat dark grey paint finish on radiators. In a kitchen, gunmetal sits between black and brushed steel - darker than steel, softer than black.
Why can't I find a gunmetal Tivoli at Screwfix?
Screwfix carries the ETAL-badged Tivoli in chrome, matt black and brushed steel. The gunmetal version is made by ELLSI under part code PDT-000543 and reaches retailers through other channels. It is the same Tivoli shape and cartridge as the finishes Screwfix sells - only the finish differs.
Will it work on my water pressure?
Only on a pressurised supply. ELLSI rates the Tivoli from 1 bar to 3 bar and marks it not suitable for gravity-fed systems, so it suits a combi boiler or pressurised mains rather than a cylinder in the hot press. Not sure what yours is? Our guide to water pressure in Irish homes shows how to check.
How do I keep the gunmetal finish looking right?
Wipe it with a soft damp cloth and dry it, using mild soapy water when needed. Limescale removers, bleach-based sprays and abrasive pads are what dull a coated finish, so keep them off the tap. Drying the base after use is the best defence in a hard-water area.
Will it fit where my old tap was?
If your current tap is a single-hole mono mixer, almost certainly. It deck mounts through one 35mm hole and comes with 1/2" BSP flexible tails and a fixing kit. A waste is not included, as a tap change normally keeps the strainer and trap already in the sink.
