Black Kitchen Sink Waste with Overflow – Matt Black Strainer and Matching Covers

A black kitchen sink waste only works if everything you can see is black, and on a sink with an overflow there are two visible fittings, not one. In this kit the strainer flange, the basket and both overflow cover plates are matt black, so the plughole and the overflow match each other and the tap above them.

Two covers are included — a slotted rectangular plate and a round one — so the overflow opening in your sink is covered whichever shape it is. Behind the sink, a flexible 370 mm tube runs from the overflow to the side of the waste body, so water that reaches the rim drains away rather than over the edge.

The waste fits the Top-Fix way: lower it into the 90 mm hole from above and tighten the single centre nut with the supplied 14 mm tool. In a fitted Irish kitchen, where the sink cupboard is usually already crowded with a trap, a bin and a water filter, that saves the awkward reach underneath. The 40 mm (1 ½") outlet then joins your existing trap.

It suits sinks 0.5 mm to 15 mm thick with a 90 mm waste hole and an overflow opening. For a bowl with no overflow hole, the matt black sink waste without overflow is the version to buy.

Why Choose a Black Kitchen Sink Waste with Overflow?

Because a black waste next to a bright chrome overflow cover is the mismatch people notice once it is fitted. With both in matt black, a stainless sink takes on the same dark accents as a black tap such as the Cato pull-out or the low-profile Luxus. Keep cleaning simple — a soft cloth and a dry-off.

The overflow kit is also made in chrome, brushed brass and antique brass. Every Top-Fix version is listed in kitchen sink wastes, alongside the taps in black kitchen taps.

We ship black kitchen sink wastes across Ireland — Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford and everywhere between — with free delivery on orders over €100 and same-day Dublin collection on stocked items by arrangement.

FAQ
Are the overflow covers black too?
Yes. Both the square and the round overflow cover plates are matt black, matching the strainer flange and basket, so nothing bright shows in the bowl. The flexible tube behind the sink is black plastic and sits out of sight.
What does a sink overflow actually do?
It is a safety outlet. If the sink is filled with the plug in and the tap is left running, water reaches the overflow opening near the rim and drains down the tube into the waste instead of spilling onto the floor. If your sink has the opening, it must be connected - an unconnected overflow leaks into the cupboard.
Black or chrome waste for a stainless steel sink?
Match the waste to the tap rather than the sink. Under a chrome tap, a chrome waste kit disappears into the steel; under a matt black tap, black brings the colour down to the bowl and makes the sink look deliberately finished.
How tight should the waste be?
Hand-tight plus a little more with the supplied 14 mm tool, until the seal is firmly compressed and the flange no longer turns. If you use a drill, ELLSI specify a torque setting of no more than 5 - over-tightening can distort the seal rather than improve it.
Is Top-Fix a different company from ETAL?
No, but they are separate brands. Top-Fix is ELLSI's daughter brand for fit-from-above kitchen wastes, and ETAL is ELLSI's own trademark, with its own conventional wastes. Both come from ELLSI Ltd in Scunthorpe. The box for this kit is branded Top-Fix, and the code to check is PDT-000739.
