Matt Black Sink Waste – 90mm Kitchen Basket Strainer, Fitted From Above

Put a black tap over a stainless sink and the shiny plughole becomes the one bright spot left on the run. A black sink waste closes that gap. The flange and the strainer basket are both finished in matt black, so from above the plughole reads as a dark ring that ties back to the tap, the handles or a black composite sink.

It is ELLSI's Top-Fix design, so the fitting happens from above. Drop the waste into the 90 mm hole, square it up, and tighten the centre nut with the 14 mm socket tool supplied. The rubber seal comes pre-assembled on the body, which keeps silicone off a matt finish that would otherwise show every smear.

Under the black coating the flange and basket are stainless steel, on a polypropylene body with a 40 mm (1 ½") outlet that suits the trap fitted under almost every Irish kitchen sink. The basket has a centre knob, so it lifts out cleanly to empty without your fingers going into the waste.

This version has no overflow connection. If the sink has an overflow hole near the rim, the black kitchen sink waste with overflow is the one to choose. Either way, the sink must be 0.5 mm to 15 mm thick at the plughole.
