Product description

Chrome Kitchen Sink Waste Kit with Overflow – 90mm Strainer, Tube and Cover Plates

Many stainless steel sinks have a second, smaller hole near the top of the bowl. That is the overflow, and it needs a pipe running down to the waste, or a forgotten tap ends up in the cupboard. This kitchen sink waste kit supplies both halves: the 90 mm basket strainer waste for the plughole and the overflow assembly that links the two.

The overflow side comes with two cover plates, one square and one round, so the visible fitting matches the shape of the opening already in your sink. A 370 mm flexible tube connects the overflow to a spigot on the side of the waste body, and it bends around the back of the bowl without needing to be cut.

The waste itself uses ELLSI's patented Top-Fix fixing: it drops into the hole from above and tightens through the centre with the supplied 14 mm socket tool against a pre-fitted rubber seal. That is why it suits Irish kitchens where the sink is already in and the cupboard below is full of pipes — the hard part is done from inside the bowl, and the 40 mm (1 ½") outlet then joins the existing trap.

Before ordering, confirm two things: the sink has an overflow hole (otherwise the chrome strainer waste without overflow is the simpler choice), and the steel is between 0.5 mm and 15 mm thick at the waste hole. Both are usually true of an inset stainless sink.

Why Choose a Kitchen Sink Waste Kit with Overflow?

Because buying the waste and overflow separately is how mismatched finishes and incompatible spigots happen. In this kit the cover plate, strainer flange and basket are the same polished steel, so the sink reads as one finished piece next to a chrome tap such as the Tivoli or Cato pull-out.

Matching kits with overflow are made in matt black, brushed brass and antique brass. Every finish and both versions are side by side in kitchen sink wastes, and our wastes guide covers the basin, bath and shower side of the house.

We ship kitchen sink waste kits across Ireland — Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford and everywhere between — with free delivery on orders over €100 and same-day Dublin collection on stocked items by arrangement.

FAQ
How do I know if my sink has an overflow?
Check the back wall of the bowl, a few centimetres under the rim. An overflow shows as a small round hole or a rectangular slotted opening, often with an old cover plate over it. If you see one, this kit is the right choice; if the bowl is plain, the chrome strainer waste without overflow is all you need.
Which overflow cover plate should I fit - round or square?
Whichever matches the shape of the opening in your sink. Both plates are in the box in the same polished steel as the waste, so there is nothing extra to buy whichever your sink has. Seat the plate squarely over the opening so the seal behind it sits flat.
Is the overflow tube long enough?
It is 370 mm and flexible, which comfortably covers the drop from an overflow near the rim to the side spigot on the waste in a standard single-bowl sink. Route it without kinks so water can run down freely when the overflow is in use.
Is a trap included?
No. The kit covers everything above the trap - waste, strainer basket and overflow. The 40 mm (1 1/2 inch) outlet connects to the trap already under your sink, and an existing trap in good condition can normally be reused.
What code should I give my plumber?
Quote PDT-000527. That is ELLSI's code for this Top-Fix chrome waste with overflow. ELLSI also makes conventional strainer wastes sold under its ETAL label, which have their own codes, so the number is the quickest way to make sure the fit-from-above kit is the one that arrives.
