Product description

Brushed Steel Kitchen Mixer Tap – Contemporary Straight Spout, Low-Profile Column

Brushed steel turns the Luxus into part of the kitchen's hardware. Beside a stainless sink, an oven and appliance handles, its slim column and flat straight spout look as if they came with the room. This brushed steel kitchen mixer tap keeps everything minimal — round body, level spout, a lever on top — so it suits a contemporary kitchen that leans industrial rather than ornate.

The brushed grain is the practical part. It scatters light, so the water spots and fingerprints that show at once on polished chrome barely register, which matters on a tap you handle with wet hands all day. Clean it along the grain with warm soapy water and a soft cloth, and keep scouring pads away — they cut across the brushing.

At 253 mm to the top of the lever it is a low tap, well under the 371 mm of the Tivoli in brushed steel, so it clears inward-opening windows and low shelving. The outlet stays 195 mm above the worktop and the spout swivels 360° with a 175 mm reach. Inside the brass body sit a 35 mm ceramic cartridge on a quarter turn and a flow straightener for a clean stream.

Before ordering, check your pressure: ELLSI rate the Luxus from 1 bar to 3 bar and not suitable for gravity-fed systems, so it needs a combi boiler or pressurised mains. It fits one tap hole on standard G ½" flexible tails.

Why Choose a Brushed Steel Kitchen Mixer Tap?

Because it lets the tap belong to the room rather than stand apart from it. Polished chrome is mirror-bright and reads as a separate object; brushed steel sits in the same family as the sink, the hob and the fridge. Paired with the Luxus's straight lines, it makes a contemporary kitchen tap with an industrial, workmanlike look that still feels finished.

For a curved spout in the same finish, the Tivoli in brushed steel is a single lever swan neck and the Stroud in brushed steel a twin lever on a squared spout; both need 1 bar. For a spray head, the Cato in brushed steel is a pull-out and the Contra in brushed steel a spring neck. On a gravity-fed supply, the Adria in brushed steel runs from 0.5 bar, and for filtered boiling water there is the brushed steel boiling water tap. The Luxus is also made in polished chrome and matt black.

FAQ
Luxus or Luxr - are they the same tap?
No, despite the similar names. The ETAL Luxr sold through Screwfix is a pull-out style kitchen mixer with a spray handset. The ELLSI Luxus is a fixed straight spout with a lever on top and no hose. ETAL is ELLSI's own trademark, so both come from the same maker, but they are different taps - this one is part number PDT-000389. If you want a spray head in brushed steel, see the Cato in brushed steel.
Is it made of stainless steel?
No - brushed steel is the finish, not the body. ELLSI list the Luxus body as brass, with a brushed steel finish on the outside that matches stainless sinks and appliances in tone.
Will it match my stainless steel sink?
Closely, though not exactly. A sink is rolled stainless and the tap carries a brushed finish, so grain direction and sheen can differ a little under direct light. In practice brushed steel sits with a stainless sink, hob and fridge in a way polished chrome does not.
Does it work on low water pressure?
No - it needs at least 1 bar and is rated to 3 bar, and ELLSI list it as not suitable for gravity-fed systems. Combi boilers and pressurised mains are fine. On a gravity-fed cylinder, the Adria in brushed steel runs from 0.5 bar. Our water pressure guide explains how to tell which you have.
Are the 400 mm tails long enough?
For most kitchens, yes. The Luxus comes with 400 mm flexible tails with G 1/2 inch connections, an 8 mm bore and a 12 mm outer diameter. If your isolation valves sit low at the back of a deep cupboard, measure from the underside of the worktop to the valves before fitting; a longer pair of tails solves it if they fall short.
Will it fit under a low window or shelf?
That is the kind of spot it suits. The whole tap is 253 mm tall to the top of the lever, while the outlet sits 195 mm above the worktop, so you give up very little filling room for the lower height. Measure to the underside of the sill or shelf and leave a little space above the lever to operate it.
