Product description

Stroud Brushed Steel Kitchen Tap – Twin Levers on a Squared Spout, PVD Finish

Most brushed steel kitchen taps are single levers. The Stroud gives you the same cool, low-maintenance finish with twin levers — a hot side and a cold side, each a quarter turn from off to full — on a squared, L-shaped spout that looks sharp next to modern handleless units. ELLSI make it as the Eben; the Stroud name is the one most Irish and UK retailers use.

The finish is the detail that sets it apart. This is PVD brushed steel over a solid brass body, not a stainless casting. PVD is bonded to the surface in a vacuum chamber rather than sprayed or plated on, which is why it holds up against the scratches and dulling a busy sink inflicts. The result looks like stainless and sits beside a steel sink, hob and appliance handles without a mismatch in tone — but the tap has the weight of brass in the hand.

The spout swivels a full 360°, rising to 324 mm, so it clears a second bowl and fills a tall pot without tilting it. A flow straightener keeps the stream smooth rather than splashy.

Check your pressure before ordering: the Stroud needs 1 bar minimum and is not suitable for gravity-fed systems. It is made for a combi boiler or pressurised mains. If your hot water comes from a cylinder in the hot press, the brushed steel alternatives linked below run from 0.5 bar.

Which Brushed Steel Tap Suits Your Kitchen?

Choose the Stroud if you want twin levers and a squared, modern profile, and you have combi or mains pressure. Its finish is PVD, bonded rather than plated, which is what you want on a tap that gets handled all day.

On a gravity-fed supply, look at the Adria in brushed steel, a dual lever on a curved spout that runs from 0.5 bar, or the Tivoli in brushed steel, a single lever swan neck with a 304 stainless body. For a pull-out spray, the Cato is the one.

The same Stroud body is stocked in polished chrome, matt black, brushed brass and brushed copper. Clean it with warm soapy water and a soft cloth, wiping along the grain, and keep abrasive pads and limescale remover away from it.

We ship kitchen taps Ireland wide — Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford and everywhere between — with free delivery on orders over €100 and same-day Dublin pickup on stocked items. Browse all kitchen taps to compare.

FAQ
Why is this tap called both Stroud and Eben?
Eben is ELLSI's own model name; Stroud is the name used on the ETAL-badged version that most UK and Irish retailers list. It is one tap with two names, and the part code is what to match: this brushed steel version is PDT-000400.
Is brushed steel PVD the same as stainless steel?
It looks the same, but the construction is different. A stainless tap is cast from steel; this one has a solid brass body with a brushed steel finish bonded on by PVD. The practical result is a tap that matches a stainless sink and appliances in tone, feels heavier in the hand, and has a surface that resists scratching better than most plated finishes.
Will it work on a gravity-fed system?
No. The Stroud needs at least 1 bar and is rated to 3 bar, so it suits a combi boiler or pressurised mains. On a gravity-fed cylinder in the hot press, choose the Adria brushed steel or the Tivoli brushed steel, both of which run from 0.5 bar.
How do the quarter-turn levers feel compared with a normal tap?
Each lever travels ninety degrees from off to full flow, so you get full water quickly with a small movement. Inside are ceramic discs rather than rubber washers, which is why there is nothing to tighten down and no slow drip developing over time.
Will it fit my sink?
It mounts through a single tap hole on the deck and comes with 600 mm flexible tails and a fixing kit. The spout rises to 324 mm with a 200 mm reach and swivels 360 degrees, so it suits single, 1.5 and double bowls. A waste is not included.
