Brushed Steel Boiling Water Tap – 3 in 1 Kit with 2.4 Litre Tank and Carbon Filter

A boiling water kitchen tap in the finish that suits most kitchens with stainless in them. This 3 in 1 kit gives you filtered water at up to 98°C from the left lever and ordinary hot and cold from the right, through one swivel spout in a single tap hole — so the kettle, the filter jug and the mixer tap become one fitting.

Brushed steel is the practical reason to choose this version. The fine directional grain sits in the same cool grey as a stainless sink, oven door or fridge handle, so the tap looks like part of the kitchen rather than an addition to it. It also hides the fingerprints and water spots that polished chrome shows within minutes — useful on a tap you will use for every cup of tea.

Two details make it easier to live with in a family kitchen. The boiling lever has a child-safe spring lock, so it cannot be opened by a casual knock or a curious hand, and ELLSI insulates the spout so it stays cool to the touch while it dispenses hot water.

The kit is three parts, supplied together. The tap sits on the sink; a 2.4 litre tank stands in the cupboard below and keeps water at temperature on a 1.5 kW element from a standard 13A plug, drawing 2.2 W on standby; and a carbon filter in line before the tank takes out the chlorine taste and much of the scale. A touch-screen control on the tank sets the delivery temperature anywhere from 75°C to 98°C.

Two checks before ordering. The tank needs 330 mm of height and a 13A socket inside the sink cupboard, and the tap needs 1 bar minimum — it is a combi or mains-pressure appliance, not one for a gravity-fed cylinder. Our guide covers the five things to check before ordering a boiling water tap and what one costs to run compared with a kettle.

Features & Benefits

  • 3 in 1 boiling water kitchen tap — filtered near-boiling water, plus normal hot and cold, from one spout.
  • Child-safe spring lock on the boiling lever to prevent accidental dispensing.
  • Insulated spout that stays cool to the touch while hot water runs.
  • Brushed steel finish that matches stainless sinks and appliances and hides water marks.
  • Adjustable 75–98°C from a touch-screen control on the tank.
  • 2.4 litre tank — roughly ten mugs before it needs to recover.
  • Carbon filter included, rated 3.5 l/min, for better-tasting water and less scale.
  • Strong everyday flow — 7.2 litres a minute of mixed hot and cold at 1 bar, 9.2 at 3 bar.
  • Plugs into a 13A socket — 1.5 kW element, 2.2 W standby, no hard wiring.
  • Kiwa Reg 4 listed tap made to EN 817, with a 2 year manufacturer guarantee on tap and tank.

Living With a Brushed Steel Boiling Tap

The only routine is a filter change every three to six months, sooner in hard-water areas. Skip it and nothing breaks on the day, but the water goes back to tasting of the mains and scale starts building on the tank element and around the spout. Routine changes need only the replacement filter cartridge (PDT-000053); the full inline water filter kit (PDT-000052) is only for replacing the filter head.

Clean the tap with warm soapy water and a soft cloth, wiping along the grain, and dry it. Brushed steel is forgiving, but abrasive pads cut across the grain and leave marks that show, so keep those away from it.

Which Finish?

The same 3 in 1 system — tank, filter and temperature range — also comes in polished chrome, matt black and brushed brass. Choose brushed steel when the kitchen is built around stainless and you want the tap to show the fewest marks. Compare all of them in boiling water taps.

If a boiling tap is more appliance than you need, a conventional mixer in the same finish does the everyday job: the Tivoli is a slim single lever, the Stroud a squared twin lever and the Cato a pull-out spray.

We ship boiling water taps Ireland wide — Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford and everywhere between — with same-day Dublin pickup on stocked items. Browse all kitchen taps to compare.

FAQ
Is it safe with children in the house?
It is designed with that in mind. The boiling lever has a child-safe spring lock, so it will not open from a casual knock or a small hand pulling at it, and ELLSI insulates the spout so it stays cool to the touch while hot water runs. You can also lower the delivery temperature to 75°C from the tank control. It still dispenses water that will scald, so treat it with the same respect as a kettle.
Is the brushed steel finish actual stainless steel?
It is a brushed steel finish over a brass tap body, which is how almost every kitchen tap in this style is built - brass is the metal that handles hot water and threads reliably. What you see and touch is a fine directional grain in a cool satin grey, the same look as a stainless sink or appliance door, and it hides fingerprints and water spots far better than polished chrome.
What do I need in the sink cupboard?
Floor space for the tank, wall space for the filter and a socket. The tank is 330 mm high, 210 mm wide and 224 mm deep and stands on the cupboard base; the filter mounts beside it and needs about 310 mm of height. Both have to fit around the waste trap, which is usually the tight part. The tank plugs into a 13A socket on a 910 mm cord, so if there is no socket in that cupboard, plan for an electrician first.
Is the tank brushed steel too?
No - the tank is matt black on every version of this system. It lives inside the sink cupboard, so in practice nobody sees it, but it is better to know than to be surprised on delivery.
Does it really replace the kettle?
For most households, yes. The 2.4 litre tank delivers filtered water at up to 98°C in about two seconds, roughly ten mugs in a row before it needs to recover. If your house only boils water a few times a week, a kettle is still the cheaper answer - this pays off where the kettle goes on all day.
How often does the filter need changing?
Every three to six months, at the shorter end in Dublin and along the east coast where the water is hard. Routine changes need only the replacement filter cartridge; the full inline filter kit is only needed if the filter head itself must be replaced.
Will it work on my water pressure?
It needs 1 bar minimum and works up to 3 bar, so a combi boiler or pressurised mains suits it. ELLSI marks it not suitable for gravity-fed systems, so a cylinder in the hot press will not drive it properly. On a gravity system, a conventional mixer is the better choice.
