Product description

Adria Matt Black Kitchen Tap – Dual Lever Control, Swivel Spout

The ELLSI Adria is a black kitchen tap with two slim levers and a tall, gently curved spout. Where a single lever blends hot and cold on one handle, the Adria keeps them separate — a hot side and a cold side, the way most Irish kitchens were plumbed before mono mixers took over.

The matt coating is the practical argument as much as the styling one. It absorbs light instead of reflecting it, so the tap reads as a clean dark line against a pale worktop rather than a mirror that shows every splash and fingerprint.

What sets the Adria apart mechanically is that it runs from 0.5 bar. Plenty of taps in this shape need a full bar or more, which rules out a gravity-fed cylinder in the hot press. The Adria works on gravity, combi and pressurised mains alike, so it is the straightforward choice if you are not certain what pressure you have.

Both levers turn on ceramic discs with a soft-turn action. There is no rubber washer to perish, so the slow drip that arrives on cheaper taps after a few years does not. The spout swivels to clear a second bowl or swing back against the splashback. It stands 377 mm tall with a 230 mm reach, and the outlet sits 255 mm above the worktop — worth checking against the depth of your bowl.

Why Choose a Black Kitchen Tap?

Black is the finish that commits. It coordinates with black sinks, cabinet handles and appliances, and it gives a kitchen a designed look rather than a fitted one. The practical argument is just as strong: matt black hides the constant water spotting that catches the eye on chrome, so it looks acceptable for longer between wipes.

The one thing to plan for is cleaning. A matt coating will not tolerate bleach, limescale remover or an abrasive cream, and once dulled it cannot be brought back. Warm soapy water and a soft cloth, then dry it — that is the whole routine.

Adria or one of the others?

Our black kitchen taps come in pull-out, dual lever and single lever shapes, and they suit different sinks. The Adria is the one to reach for if you want separate hot and cold levers and you are on a gravity-fed supply, since it runs from 0.5 bar.

The Stroud is also twin lever but drawn in straight lines — a squared L-shaped spout rather than a curve — and it needs 1 bar, so it wants mains or combi. The Tivoli is a single lever swan neck for one-handed control while your other hand holds a pan. The Cato adds a pull-out spray head for rinsing pans and washing down the bowl.

Compare all of them on the black kitchen taps page. The same Adria body is also made in brushed steel — ask us if you want a finish we are not showing and we will check what ELLSI can supply.

We ship kitchen taps Ireland wide — Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford and everywhere between — with same-day Dublin pickup on stocked items.

FAQ
Will it work with my water pressure?
Almost certainly. The Adria runs from 0.5 bar up to 5 bar, so it works on a gravity-fed cylinder in the hot press as well as on a combi boiler or pressurised mains. That is the practical difference between this and a lot of taps in the same shape, which want a full bar before they behave. If you are on a very low gravity system in an older Irish home, 0.5 bar is roughly a 5 metre head between the cold tank and the tap.
How is this different from the Stroud? Both are black twin lever taps.
Shape and pressure. The Adria has a curved swan neck spout and runs from 0.5 bar. The Stroud is drawn in straight lines - a squared L-shaped spout - and needs 1 bar minimum, so it wants mains or combi rather than gravity. If your kitchen leans modern and angular the Stroud suits it; if you want softer lines, or you are unsure of your pressure, the Adria is the safer pick. Both use ceramic discs and both are solid brass.
How do I clean it without ruining the finish?
Soft damp cloth, then dry it. Mild soapy water at most. Never bleach, limescale remover, abrasive cream or a scouring pad - these dull the matt coating permanently and it cannot be restored. In hard water areas around Dublin, Kildare and Wicklow, drying the tap after use does more than any cleaner. The upside is that matt black hides water spots far better than chrome does day to day.
Dual lever or single lever?
Dual levers give you a hot side and a cold side, which many people prefer and which suits a kitchen with any traditional leaning. A single lever blends both on one handle so you can adjust it one-handed while holding a pan. Neither is better made - the Adria uses ceramic discs either way. Choose on how you actually use the sink. If single lever appeals, the Tivoli in matt black is the equivalent.
Will it arrive badged ELLSI or ETAL?
ELLSI. ETAL is ELLSI Limited's own registered trademark rather than a separate manufacturer, and the company sells the same tap under both names - this one is PDT-000398 either way. You may also see this exact tap sold as the Flode Hammerfest, which is the same casting under a different badge. If you have been comparing specifications across those listings and the figures disagree, work from the part number.
Will it fit my sink, and what is included?
Deck mounted into a single tap hole, so normally a direct swap for an existing mono mixer. Supplied with 1/2" BSP flexible tails and a fixing kit; no waste. Check you have 377 mm of clearance above the worktop, particularly under a window that opens inwards, and that the 230 mm reach lands the spout where you want it over the bowl.
