Product description

Chrome Newton Kitchen Tap – Swan Neck Swivel Spout, Twin Lever Control

The Deva Newton is a tall chrome kitchen tap with a swan neck spout and two slim levers set either side of the body. The curve is the whole design: it rises 331 mm before turning over the sink, which gives the tap presence on a worktop without the bulk of a pull-out head.

Twin levers mean hot and cold are set separately, the way older taps worked, feeding a single spout. Some people prefer it — it is easier to leave the cold running at a set trickle — and some prefer the one-handed convenience of a single lever. Both levers are quarter-turn, so neither needs winding. The spout swivels a full 360°, which matters on a double bowl.

The clearance under the swan neck is the practical benefit: a stockpot, a kettle or a tall watering can fills without tilting. The trade-off is honest and worth stating — a 331 mm spout dropping into a shallow bowl splashes more than a low one, so check your sink depth. Solid brass body, and Deva guarantee it for 12 years, which is a long time for a tap at this price in Irish kitchens where the water is hard through much of the midlands and east.

It fits a single 35 mm tap hole, deck-mounted, and comes with two 400 mm braided tails, so it is a straight swap for most existing mono mixers. It works from 0.3 bar, so a gravity-fed cylinder is fine as well as a combi. No waste is supplied, and to be clear: we do not stock kitchen sink wastes, strainers or traps at all — the existing ones in a sink swap are normally reused.

Features & Benefits

  • Chrome kitchen tap with a 331 mm swan neck – fills a stockpot or watering can without tilting it.
  • 360° swivel spout – swings across both bowls of a double sink and out of the way for washing up.
  • Twin quarter-turn levers – hot and cold set independently, no winding.
  • ¼-turn ceramic disc cartridges – quiet, light action that does not stiffen or drip.
  • Solid brass body – corrosion-resistant and heavy in the hand, not plated zinc.
  • Works from 0.3 bar – suits gravity-fed cylinders as well as combi and mains-pressure supplies.
  • 172 mm spout reach – water lands centrally in a standard bowl rather than on the rim.
  • Two 400 mm braided tails supplied – a direct swap for most existing mono mixers.
  • WRAS approved – meets the water regulations that apply to Irish mains supplies.
  • 12-year Deva guarantee – guarantee terms differ by manufacturer across our catalogue rather than by quality tier; Deva backs its mechanical taps for 12 years.

Why Choose the Chrome Newton Kitchen Tap?

Chrome is the default in a kitchen for a reason: the sink, the drainer, the appliance handles and usually the door furniture are already some form of bright metal, and chrome is the finish that disappears into that rather than arguing with it. The Newton is made in chrome only — there is no matt black or brushed brass version of this tap.

At €45 the Newton sits in the middle of our kitchen range. Its direct counterpart at the same price is the Walton chrome kitchen tap, which swaps the swan neck for a square U-spout — same brand, same guarantee, same money, purely a shape decision. Below them, the Vesper chrome kitchen tap at €41 and the Profile chrome pillar taps at €30 are the budget end. Above, the Tivoli chrome kitchen tap is the single-lever alternative, and the Spring chrome pull down kitchen tap adds a rinser hose. Single lever is the genuine alternative to twin lever: choose it if your other hand is usually holding a pan, and the Newton if you prefer setting hot and cold independently.

One thing this tap does not need is a waste — we do not stock kitchen sink wastes, strainers or traps, and a sink swap normally reuses the existing ones. We deliver across the Republic of Ireland — Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford and every county between — free on orders over €100 and usually within 2–3 working days, with same-day Dublin collection by arrangement on stocked items. FAQ
Twin lever or single lever - which should I choose?
Twin lever means separate hot and cold controls, like traditional taps but feeding one spout. It suits period kitchens and anyone who prefers setting hot and cold independently. A single lever like the Tivoli adjusts both with one hand, which is more practical when your other hand is holding a pan. Neither is better; it is a preference.
How much clearance does the swan neck give?
Enough to fill a stockpot or a tall watering can without tilting it, which is the main reason people choose a swan neck. The trade-off is splash: a tall spout dropping into a shallow bowl splashes more than a low one. If your sink is shallow, check the spout height on the specification before ordering.
Is this good value at this price?
It is one of the better-value taps we stock: solid brass with a 12-year Deva guarantee and WRAS approval at the same price as much simpler taps. The Walton is the same price with a square U-spout if you prefer a more modern shape.
Will it fit a standard Irish kitchen sink?
Yes - single 35 mm tap hole, deck mounted, supplied with flexi tails so it is a direct swap for most existing mono mixers. A waste is not included. Check the spout reach against your bowl so the water lands in the sink rather than on the rim.
Does it come in other finishes?
The Newton is chrome only. If you want a swan neck in matt black or brushed brass, the Tivoli range covers both, though it is single lever rather than twin.
