Product description

Chrome Spring (Slinky) Pull Down Kitchen Tap – Rinser Spray Hose, Exposed Coil Spout

The Deva Spring is a professional-style chrome kitchen tap with an exposed spring coil and a pull-down rinser head. It is the tallest tap we stock at 535 mm, and it is meant to be seen — the coil is the design, not a cover for one. In a kitchen with an island or a deep single bowl it looks like the tap the room was built around.

The head pulls straight down into the bowl on its hose and returns on the spring, with two modes: a normal stream for filling and a rinse spray for washing down. A 232.5 mm reach and 360° swivel cover a double bowl comfortably. The single lever tilts for volume and turns for temperature on a 40 mm ceramic cartridge, which is a larger cartridge than most and part of why the action stays smooth under a heavy hose.

The body is solid brass under the chrome and weighs 2.2 kg, so it does not shift when you tug the head back. Deva guarantee it for 12 years — the longest term on any kitchen tap we sell, and worth noting when comparing it against pull-outs carrying 5. Across Ireland it is the tap people buy when they have finally lost patience with rinsing a roasting tin under a fixed spout.

The important check before ordering is pressure. This pull down kitchen tap needs 1.0 bar minimum because the rinser head restricts flow — combi boilers and pressurised mains are fine, but an older gravity-fed cylinder will make it feel weak, and a lower-pressure tap is the better answer there. It fits a single 35 mm tap hole. No waste is supplied, and we do not stock kitchen sink wastes, strainers or traps.

Features & Benefits

  • Pull down rinser head – comes straight down into the bowl for rinsing roasting tins, colanders and large pans.
  • Two spray modes – an even stream for filling and a rinse spray for washing down.
  • Chrome kitchen tap with exposed spring coil – professional-kitchen styling and 535 mm of height.
  • 232.5 mm reach with 360° swivel – covers both bowls of a double sink.
  • 40 mm ceramic disc cartridge – oversized, so the lever stays smooth under the weight of the hose.
  • Solid brass body at 2.2 kg – heavy enough to stay put when the head is pulled back.
  • Single-lever tilt-and-turn control – flow and temperature with one wet hand.
  • Two 400 mm M10 braided tails supplied – straightforward connection to existing pipework.
  • WRAS approved – meets the water regulations that apply to Irish mains supplies.
  • 12-year Deva guarantee – the longest term on any kitchen tap we stock. Guarantee terms differ by manufacturer rather than by quality tier, so a 5-year pull-out is not a lesser tap.

Why Choose the Chrome Spring Pull Down Kitchen Tap?

Chrome suits this tap better than a coloured finish would. The exposed coil reads as workshop or professional-kitchen equipment, and bright metal is what that language is written in — a matt coating on a moving spring would also wear at the contact points. The Spring is chrome only; if a pull-out in another finish is what you want, the Cato in brushed brass and the Cato in matt black both have spray heads.

At €89 this is near the top of our kitchen range, and the genuine alternative sits just below it: the Cato chrome pull out kitchen tap at €75. The difference is not quality but geometry — a pull-down head drops from height into a deep single bowl, a pull-out head sits lower and draws towards you, which suits a shallower or double sink. Our pull-out vs pull-down guide works through it properly. If the rinser is not the point at all, the Newton chrome kitchen tap and the Walton chrome kitchen tap give you the same brand and guarantee at half the price, and both run from 0.3 bar where this one needs a full bar.

No waste is needed or supplied — we do not stock kitchen sink wastes, strainers or traps, and a tap change reuses what is already fitted. We deliver throughout the Republic of Ireland — Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford and every county between — free on orders over €100 and typically within 2–3 working days, with same-day Dublin collection by arrangement on stocked items. FAQ
Will it work on Irish low water pressure?
It needs 1 bar minimum because the rinser head restricts flow. Combi boiler and pressurised mains systems are fine. On an older gravity-fed cylinder it will feel weak. If your system is low pressure, the Walton works from 0.3 bar and is the safer choice - this is the detail that causes returns on pull-down taps.
What is the difference between pull-down and pull-out?
A pull-down head sits high on a tall spout and comes straight down into the bowl, which suits a deep single sink. A pull-out head sits lower and pulls towards you, which suits a shallower or double bowl. This Spring is a pull-down. Our Cato in chrome is a pull-out if that suits your sink better - our guide covers the difference in full.
Why is it more expensive than the Cato pull-out?
Two reasons: the 12-year Deva guarantee rather than 5 years, and the longer spout reach with a proper rinser head. If you have a deep single bowl or a Belfast sink, the extra height and reach are worth paying for. On a standard double bowl the cheaper Cato does the same job.
Is it WRAS approved?
Yes, and it carries a 12-year manufacturer guarantee from Deva. WRAS approval means it meets the water regulations that apply to Irish mains supplies - relevant if you want the installation to be compliant.
What is included?
The tap, flexible tails and a fixing kit, with installation instructions. Fits a standard single 35 mm tap hole. A waste is not included, and we do not stock kitchen sink wastes, strainers or traps. Browse all kitchen taps to compare options.
