Product description

Chrome Profile Pillar Taps – High Neck Pair for Kitchen Sinks and Basins

The Deva Profile is a pair of chrome pillar taps — one hot, one cold, sold together, each with its own fixed spout and knob handle. This is the arrangement most Irish sinks and older basins were originally drilled for, and replacing like for like avoids blanking a hole or changing the sink.

High neck is the useful part. The spouts stand 150 mm tall with the outlet 100 mm off the deck, which leaves room to fill a bucket, a kettle or a tall jug underneath. Standard low-neck pillar taps leave almost none, and that is a daily irritation rather than an occasional one. The trade-off is more splash in a shallow bowl.

These are solid brass with a chrome finish and Deva's 12-year guarantee — unusual on the cheapest taps in a range, and the reason they are worth fitting in a utility room or a rental rather than something disposable. They run from just 0.1 bar and still deliver 5.3 L/min there, rising to 17.1 at 1 bar, so gravity-fed cylinders in older Irish housing are no obstacle at all.

The one thing to check before ordering: these chrome pillar taps need two tap holes. If your sink or basin has a single 35 mm hole you need a mono mixer instead, and the alternatives are linked below. No waste is supplied. We do not stock kitchen sink wastes, strainers or traps at all; if you are fitting these to a basin rather than a sink, we do stock basin wastes.

Features & Benefits

  • Chrome pillar taps supplied as a pair – hot and cold together, a direct replacement for two-hole sinks and basins.
  • High neck spouts – 100 mm outlet height leaves room for a bucket, kettle or tall jug.
  • Works from 0.1 bar – the lowest pressure rating in our catalogue, and still 5.3 L/min at that figure.
  • Solid brass construction – corrosion-resistant, not plated zinc, despite being our cheapest taps.
  • Separate hot and cold control – the traditional arrangement, and the visual match for a period kitchen.
  • Polished chrome finish – wipes clean and matches existing sink furniture without a scheme decision.
  • Fixed non-swivel spouts – nothing to work loose at the base over time.
  • 39.1 L/min at 5 bar – strong flow where the supply allows it.
  • WRAS approved – meets the water regulations that apply to Irish mains supplies, so they are fine for drinking water.
  • 12-year Deva guarantee – the same term Deva gives its €89 taps. Guarantee terms differ by manufacturer across our catalogue rather than by price.

Why Choose the Chrome Profile Pillar Taps?

Chrome is the only finish these come in, and on a pair of pillar taps that is the sensible default — they are usually going into a utility room, a rental, a period kitchen or an older basin, all places where matching existing bright metal beats introducing a new colour. There is no matt black or brushed brass version of the Profile.

At €30 the pair, these are the cheapest taps we stock by a clear margin, and they are the entry point to the kitchen range. The step up, if your sink has a single hole or you would rather have a mixer, is the Vesper chrome kitchen tap at €41, then the Walton and Newton at €45, and the Tivoli chrome kitchen tap at €53. A mono mixer is the genuine alternative to a pillar pair: choose the mixer if you want one-handed temperature control or your sink has one hole, and the Profile if it has two and you would rather not change it.

Fitting these to a basin rather than a kitchen sink? A basin then needs its own waste — the chrome slotted basin waste if the basin has an overflow, or the unslotted version if not; our wastes guide explains which. Kitchen sink wastes and traps are not part of our range. We deliver across the Republic of Ireland — Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford and every county between — free on orders over €100 and typically within 2–3 working days, with same-day Dublin collection by arrangement on stocked items. FAQ
Are these one tap or a pair, and how many tap holes do I need?
A pair - one hot, one cold, sold together. They are pillar taps, not a mixer, so they need a sink or basin with two separate tap holes. If yours has a single 35 mm hole, you need a mono mixer instead, such as the Tivoli Chrome. Check before ordering - this is the most common mistake with pillar taps.
Why would I choose pillar taps over a mixer?
Two reasons. First, if your sink is already drilled for two taps, replacing like for like avoids buying a new sink or blanking a hole. Second, period and traditional kitchens often suit separate taps visually. They are also the cheapest option we stock by some margin.
What does high neck mean?
The spouts are raised rather than sitting close to the sink - 150 mm tall with the outlet 100 mm off the deck - giving clearance to fill a bucket, a kettle or a tall pot underneath. Standard low-neck pillar taps leave very little room, which is a daily irritation in a kitchen. The trade-off is more splash in a shallow bowl.
Are they suitable for drinking water?
Yes - WRAS approved and solid brass, meeting the water regulations that apply to Irish mains-fed supplies. They carry a 12-year Deva guarantee, the same term as taps three times the price.
What is included, and do I need a waste?
Both taps, with fixing kits and instructions. Wastes are not included. Kitchen sink wastes, strainers and traps are not part of our range at all. If you are fitting these to a basin rather than a sink, add a chrome slotted basin waste for a basin with an overflow or the unslotted version without. Browse all kitchen taps for mixer alternatives.
